Welcome to Inner Care Wellness

Welcome Dear Friends,

I’m Kandyl Crawford, your Colon Therapist and owner of Inner Care Wellness in Madisonville, LA.

Clients and friends ask me all of the time, “How did you get into THIS business?

When people find out I am a Colon Therapist, either smirks and jokes come my way, or people become shy and embarrassed at the sheer topic. Either way, everyone wants to know more. In all seriousness, I love what I do! Cleansing and detoxification is incredibly rewarding work. Here’s my story, in brief…

Feeling energized and helping others feel their best has been my life long goal since my earliest memories. At an early age of 15, my fascination with nutrition and exercise led me to my first job at a health club. I went on to college and finished with a degree in Occupational Therapy (OT). OT allowed me to help people with disabilities function better. But, still, I did not understand a few big pictures.

Why are my “young and healthy” friends, including myself, so tired and can’t focus? Why is my active mother, who eats salads, obese? Why do my young nieces and nephews have sensitive skin issues, blood disorders, and odd food sensitivities?

My curiosity took me down many paths trying new techniques to help people, until one day, it hit me! Our food, our water, our air…it is all polluted! The chemicals are everywhere and in such large quantities that we are intoxicated and don’t feel so well. We reach for caffeine, pills… anything to feel better as fast as we can.

If you’ve tried it all, and you still don’t feel great, IT IS TIME TO DETOX. Etch away the buildup. Get the bad out. The old method of colon hydrotherapy is tried and true. It’s what doctors used to help their patients get well before advancements in medicine and surgery.

For nearly 10 years now, I’ve been helping people feel better by giving the body a good bath on the inside. This vital step, getting rid of the toxins, is preliminary to restoring health. Healthy insides result in clear skin, a mind that can focus, energy to spare, and most importantly, an immune system that fights for you. We all know this.

At Inner Care, there is no judgment; you will be supported in your cleansing efforts no matter where you are in your journey. I look forward to meeting you and helping you achieve your cleansing goals. The decision to cleanse is action in the direction of feeling well.

Warmly,
Kandyl

FAQ

COLON HYDROTHERAPY AT INNER CARE

Colon Hydrotherapy is a safe, therapeutic process administered by a trained and certified Colon Therapist. The Colon Hydrotherapy equipment at Inner Care is the most advanced and sensitive equipment available today. It is FDA-registered and utilizes a six-filter system to gently introduce warm oxygenated water to the large intestine. As your colon is hydrated and massaged, fecal waste loosens or dislodges, and your colon contracts to defecate naturally. The waste is evacuated through a “closed” tube (no odor, leaks, or “mess”) and passes through a viewing tube before exiting through the drain system.
Colon cleansing with oxygen is a treatment that uses purified water with medical grade oxygen to cleanse the large intestine. The benefit of hydrating the bowel is to dislodge old, hardened fecal matter. The benefit of oxygen is to provide an aerobic (with oxygen) environment where parasites and bad bacteria cannot survive while producing an antiseptic and healing effect on the colon.
After your initial evaluation, you will relax on a comfortable massage table as the therapist palpates your abdomen to detect areas of congestion or build up. Then, a narrow, well-lubricated speculum will glide very, very gently into the rectum. You will then feel warm water circulating through your large intestine, the hydration process, which is quite relaxing. As your colon detects loosened fecal material, it begins to contract involuntarily (peristalsis) to get rid of the waste. It will feel like you have the “urge” to “go” as your body allows the waste to exit through the contained tube. Throughout the procedure, you will remain with your therapist, completely covered and comfortable.
45 minutes. Allow one hour for your appointment.
Absolutely not. Hydrocolon therapy is exercise to the colon walls to improve its muscle tone and metabolic function.
Yes, yes, yes. Hydrotherapy is exercise; each session works to tone the colon, which means daily contractions eventually become stronger so you eliminate more efficiently on your own. Also, as the overabundance of waste is removed, good bacteria have a chance at surviving.
Almost never. Some of us have ten or more pounds of accumulated waste in our colon. The most I removed was nearly 25 lbs. and over the course of about 20 weeks (no changes in diet or exercise). Dehydrated waste becomes hard and rubbery and almost becomes one with your intestinal wall, and work must be done to remove it (think: cleaning a lasagna pan). The first cleanse hydrates and removes waste, the second, more. More treatments may be indicated in cases of chronic constipation or an atonic (sluggish) colon.
Laxatives relieve constipation by interfering with the colon’s ability to eliminate normally on its own. The chemicals contained in laxatives irritate and stimulate the colon to abnormally contract, an effort to expel the irritating substance. Often times, laxatives cause more unwanted symptoms. Enemas, while can be helpful, are limited to hydrating the rectum and last few inches of the colon, missing the other 52+ inches.
If you can, it is helpful to prepare for your Colon Hydrotherapy session by following these guidelines for 2-3 days before your cleanse day,
1. Try to drink lots of water (preferably purified and filtered) and apple juice. Water helps you get a head-start on hydrating the build up, and apple juice supports the liver in releasing toxins during your cleanse. Other great cleansing juices are prune, pear, and pineapple.
2. Try to limit or avoid gas-forming foods and beverages. These differ from person to person, but generally include coffee, soft drinks, bananas, cauliflower, broccoli, onions, garlic, and cabbage. The build-up of gas can slow down waste elimination during your cleanse. For a more elaborate list, Google: acid-forming foods.
3. On the day of your cleanse, fasting is recommended, especially if your cleanse is scheduled in the morning. If you are unable to fast, or if your cleanse is scheduled in the afternoon, eat only a “light” meal in the morning and not within 2 hours of your appointment. (Remember: The digestive tract cannot digest and eliminate efficiently at the same time.) The best option for a “light” meal is a smoothie or juice, which is dairy-free and made of whole foods. It’s a good idea to avoid coffee. Also, slow down your water intake just prior to your cleanse as you do not want to have to stop your cleanse to empty your bladder.

The preparatory tips are helpful and advantageous, but not required. Those suffering with an impacted colon or those whom are preparing for a medical procedure, such as a colonoscopy or laparoscopic GYN surgery, should speak with our therapist for special instructions.

After your first treatment, you and your therapist will discuss your session, what you eliminated, and how your colon responded. Depending on the state of your colon, it may be advisable to have a 2nd or sometimes a series of treatments. Each person is different, and a recommendation cannot be made until after your 1st cleanse. Remember, years of gut neglect cannot be reversed in an hour. Nonetheless, after cleansing, a wholesome diet is essential to health and wholesome energy.
Eat more fresh, raw foods
Eat more natural foods (unprocessed, unrefined, un-tampered and grown naturally)
Eat lots of whole foods with unrefined carbohydrates
Limit fats to those beneficial oils like those from coconut, fish, flax seed, safflower
Eat slowly, chewing your food well
Avoid overeating
Drink half your weight in ounces of water each day
A good rule of thumb when looking at food packaging: If you can’t pronounce it, or you don’t understand why it’s in there – don’t eat it!
